Ellen: Because we are storing waste in our fat
cells, when we don’t use these fat cells we can’t easily detox、 can we?.
Fasting Instructor: That’s right. Our bodies
are set up to use energy from carbohydrates before they use fats.
Ellen: But I was being given carbohydrates
when I felt weak during this half fast. That means that I be less likely to use
the fat that I want to expel from in my stools.
Fasting Instructor: That’s true, but if you
exercise you will begin using the fat cells. At that point, you will begin to
detoxify. That is, the waste that is stored in those fat cells will be carried
to the intestines and most of it will be excreted. More will be excreted
because more of your colon is functioning during a fast or when you go home and
are eating less.
Did you know, athletes had very little need to
detoxify? That’s because most of the poisonous toxins are easily expelled from
their body. Because they exercise, the fat cells are expelled. More important,
they establish efficient chemical processes to use their fat. They don’t store much fat, so they
can’t store much toxins in their fat cells.
For the average person
who is fasting, in the beginning they use their glucose. If their blood sugar
level drops, they begin using their stored fat. So,if they eat carbohydrates,
burning of fat is slow to happen. In short, small meals are essential.
