Flow in Aikido

Today in Akikido the need to keep moving became clear.  Between any one movement there are an endless flow of movements.  Continually adapting to the situation requires flow, mental and physical.  Skillfully moving and keeping the best distance from your opponent is key.  The word in Japanese is Itsukunai.  To not say in a place of comfort, but to keep moving with the situation.

One good way to practice Aikido is to practice in daily life.  Not the physical motion, but the mental habit.  I think of difficulties in life as places where I can "itsuku".  I have a certain but delusive assumption.  That assumption repeats and I am stuck there.  In Aikido as beginners, we learn forms.  As a black belt in Aikido, the idea is to connect the infinite number of dots between any step is a set form.
